An Afternoon with Le Clarence: Press Trip

Leaving behind the grey and rainy skies of London, it was a delight to escape to Paris for the day and visit the enchanting 19th century townhouse and restaurant, Le Clarence, located within the Golden Triangle of Paris’ Avenues Montaigne, Champs-Élysées and Course-la-Reine. Together with five press, we attended an intimate wine tasting at La Cave du Château wine boutique, followed by a magnificent lunch at Le Clarence, to learn of the magnificent wines and the history of Domaine Clarence Dillion.

After an aperitif and a very warm welcome from the professional and effortlessly knowledgeable staff, we were guided through to the private dining room, an elegant salon of opulence with red velvet chairs, crystal chandeliers and views out over The Grand Palais. The bespoke menu, conceived by Michelin starred Christophe Pelé, celebrated the great classics of French fine dining with a modern edge. To accompany our feast of seafood, meats, cheese and Parisian tarts, tartin and soufflé, were the four jewels of Domaine Clarence Dillon: Château Haut-Brion, Château La Mission Haut-Brion, Château Quintus and Clarendelle. As a special token for guests to take home with them, the bespoke menu was printed and signed by Pelé.

A truly luxurious afternoon, it is no surprise that Le Clarence have been awarded first place in the 2019 “Grands de Paris”, receiving an impressive 38 points for their outstanding food and exceptional service.
