On Tuesday, Clementine Communications assisted the PRCA (Public Relations Consultants Association) event, #CannesUndercovered, to discover more about Cannes Lions, the International Festival of Creativity which takes place a month after big brother, the Cannes Festival. Clementine Communications, a member of the PRCA (prca.org.uk) was invited to this joint event by the PRCA, ICCO (International Communications Consultancy Organisation) and the agency Ketchum to talk about this massive festival which gathers communications professionals from all over the globe to celebrate creativity, efficiency, social awareness and all that make communications a great field to be in.
The panel explained the importance of creativity in PR, underlining how underestimated that role is. We, PRs, work in the shadows. We seldom use blockbuster-like adverts, famous photographers with big flash bulbs or render giant installation in the centre of Piccadilly Circus. Yes, of course, PR stunts exist, but not all the brands can afford to float a £500,000 giant, luminous rubber duck in the Thames. Networking, press release and a lot of phone handling are thus our best allies. But we can still be rewarded for our effort. Take a look the inspiring case studies video of the 2015 winners.
