Clementine Com was tasked with delivering an exciting communications strategy to amplify the excellence & craftsmanship of Small Beer Brew Co., a South-Bermondsey based brewery specialising in classic beer styles below 2.8%. As a brand that launched in 2017, Clementine Com were challenged with educating the media on lower alcohol beer, establishing a point of difference from competitors, and presenting the historic and sustainable production methods that make Small Beer unique.

Campaign Summary

Clementine Com operated a dynamic, results-driven press office, to help Small Beer gain a National footing. Alongside launching new products and seasonal offerings to the media, Clementine Com communicated on the events hosted at the brewery, including live music, comedy nights and weddings, to drive revenue and press coverage. Clementine Com also supported with establishing partnerships with like-minded brands and positioning Small Beer as an organisation using business as a force for good (supported by Small Beer’s B Corp accreditation in 2020).


In the year that they have been working together, Clementine Com has put Small Beer on the map with over 150 pieces of coverage across National and broadcast, resulting in a listing with Ocado and John Lewis, and it is doubling production capacity to meet sales demand. In January 2020, Clementine Com established partnerships with sustainable brands ‘KeepCup’ and ‘Rains’, that culminated in organised a panel event hosted by journalist Lizzie Riviera (The Independent, Evening Standard), in addition to driving press coverage (The Guardian, Foodism), the brewery sold tickets to 100 people – driving revenue and social media presence.
