Today, esteemed Greek wine producer, T-OINOS, announces their exclusive UK distribution through Berkmann Wine Cellars.
A project inspired by estate owner Alexandre Avatangelos and Gerard Margeon, the charismatic sommelier of international fame and Head Sommelier of the Alain Ducasse Group, T-OINOS are the first wines in 3000 years to be produced from the volcanic soil of Tinos, a World Heritage-listed island of the Cyclades. The wines have a reputation amongst wine professionals and consumers alike for producing some of the top white wines in the world.
Winegrower Stéphane Derenoncourt is a world- renowned consultant whose advice is based on a proven global approach to 140 customers in Bordeaux and across the world such as Domaine de Chevalier, Clos Fourtet, Clos de l’Oratoire and Smith Haut-Lafitte. Above all, he is known for seeking to express the character and identity of the terroir.
Striving to express the character and identity of the T-OINOS vines, as well as the soil in which they grow, the climate they are immersed in and the work of men and women who cultivate them, Derenoncourt has an instrumental and hands on role at the estate.
Oenologist and associate winemaker, Thanos Georgilas was part of the viticulture and oenology research team at Opus One in California and the production and viticulture team at Chateau Latour, Pauillac in Bordeaux.
T-OINOS joins the likes of Yarra Yering and Marchesi Antinori within the Berkmann Wine Cellars Fine Wine portfolio.
